The Montgomery County’s Register of Deeds plays a fundamental role in the historical filing of real estate business in Montgomery County. By documenting and filing a wide range of documents such as deeds, death certificates, affidavits, mortgages, maps, oil, and gas leases, among others, the Register of Deeds ensures transparency and accountability in the real estate sector within the county. The office also extends its services to the filing of financing statements and agreements on personal property under the uniform commercial code, federal and state tax liens, corporation papers, powers of attorney, and military discharges.
