The Parent Project is an evidence-based parent education program specifically designed for parents/families of youth experiencing behavior problems such as: criminal behavior, running away, skipping school, substance abuse, suicidal tendencies, drug use, gang affiliation, etc.
Alternative to Detention (ATD) is a program that may be offered by the County Attorney or ordered by the Court based on criteria stated in KSA 38-2331. This program comes with requirements for both the juvenile as well as the parent/guardian. One requirement is 3 times a week face to face meetings with ATD Officer, along with a mandatory weekly contact with the parent/guardian.
